Exhibition: Cecil Newton, passeur de mémoire

From September 19, 2026 to September 20, 2026, at Château de Creully : Exhibition: Cecil Newton, passeur de mémoire (histoire).

June 6, 7:20 PM. Cecil Newton is 20. He was part of the first wave of attacks on Gold Beach. Despite the reassuring words he writes to his parents: 'Everything went exactly as planned and will continue to do so.' This young soldier is about to face the horrors of the Battle of Normandy. Artifacts, archives and testimonies recount Cecil Newton's journey, from his training to his role as a tank driver in the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards. They also invite you to discover his other battle, that of transmission, particularly to younger generations. The exhibition pays tribute to the veteran and honorary citizen of Creully-sur-Seulles, who worked tirelessly for peace and ensured that the sacrifice of his comrades who fell in the fight for the liberation of Europe from Nazism was not forgotten.
