François Masson, gloire d’un sculpteur normand à la fin du 18e siècle. Exposition-dossier dans le parcours permanent du musée. Le sculpteur François Masson (1745-1807) est né à la Vieille-Lyre, un village de l’Eure situé à 80 kilomètres de Rouen. Il commence sa formation à Pont-Audemer puis rejoint le grand atelier parisien de Guillaume II Coustou, avant de se perfectionner à Rome.
