Camera Calda / Débâcle by Fred Froument is a two-part visual arts installation featuring 50 silver gelatin photographic prints encased in suspended ice blocks hanging from cables and wires, above galvanized steel basins collecting the water from the gradual melting of the works. The installation explores the relationship between the photographic act, its archiving, and the processes that constitute memory, as well as the role images play in our traditional archives, which are disappearing in favor of an overblown, dematerialized digital corpus. A unique work to discover during the Journées Européennes du Patrimoine!
