The Artist's Cloth. From Rosa Bonheur to Sonia Delaunay
From September 23, 2026 to January 24, 2027, at Musée Bourdelle : The Artist's Cloth. From Rosa Bonheur to Sonia Delaunay (photo).
Following the rediscovery of Antoine Bourdelle's clothes in 2020, the Musée Bourdelle explores, in a new exhibition, how artists represented and staged themselves through their garments, from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century. The path through "L'étoffe de l'artiste" is punctuated by little-known clothes worn by emblematic or more discreet figures, men and women alike — including Gustav Klimt, Rosa Bonheur, Foujita, Sonia Delaunay and Camille Bernier — in dialogue with paintings, sculptures, graphic art and photographs.
