Originally, in 2015, Shareef Sarhan created Lighthouse, a monumental work made from war debris, standing on the port of Gaza. In 2023, an Israeli tank destroyed the symbolic lighthouse. With Re-Lighthouse, the artist envisions a traveling artistic gesture, indestructible, bearing hope and resilience: the luminous sculpture now crosses borders to be reborn in cities, in Gaza, Marseille, Bordeaux, Montpellier… and to shine the light of Gaza's memory and peace.
